The chevron profiles were inspired by minimalist geometry and the need to lock multiple planters together while retaining the ability to remove one from the middle of the line. The geometry of the planter posed challenges in terms of manufacturability due to multiple undercuts and required a 5-part plaster mould in the slip casting process.
The interlocking nature of the planter was developed to create a modular inside window box. Encouraging consumers to purchase more units to fill their windowsills with plants and herbs.
